Learn More about Nusrat Jhuma

Nusrat Jhuma lives with her parents and 1 brother. Her parents struggle to provide for the family. Her father is a factory worker and her mother is a factory worker. Despite their efforts, it is difficult to meet the family’s needs.

Nusrat Jhuma is growing up in a tropical urban area, where many jobs are seasonal and short-lived so most families can’t earn stable incomes. People in extreme poverty live in congested slums that lack many basic necessities, including clean water and sanitation. More than 40% of kids are stunted, meaning they suffer chronic hunger. Many students drop out of school to help support their families. Teachers don’t receive adequate training, so kids don’t read well.

Nusrat Jhuma is in kindergarten and her favorite subject is studying the national language. She helps at home by running errands. She likes to play with dolls. She is in satisfactory health.

Your sponsorship commitment will help Nusrat Jhuma and her community gain access to healthcare services, clean water, and more. We’ll provide people with hygiene and nutrition training so kids grow up healthy and strong. Parents and faith leaders will participate in child protection courses to keep children in school and safe from child labor and other forms of abuse. We’ll partner with schools to provide teachers more tools and techniques so kids can get a quality education. Kids will participate in clubs and fun activities to increase their reading and writing skills.

What does my $39 a month do?

Your monthly sponsorship donation will combine with other donations for maximum impact in each community. Youll help your child and other vulnerable children in the community establish lasting access to life-changing basics like clean water, improved nutrition, healthcare, quality education, economic opportunity, spiritual nurture and more.

Sponsored children go from surviving to thriving

Through Awook Foundations work, every 60 seconds a family receives the tools to overcome poverty. Sponsorship helps address the specific needs of each community, empowering your child, their family, and community to become self-sufficient.

Sponsored children get encouragement

Your child can experience your love and encouragement through letters and photos, gifts, or even a visit! You can also send your child an email and get updates through the My World Vision app. Meanwhile, your sponsored child will get regular check-ins from local staff on their progress and well-being.
